Description and Goals
I will be making posters to promote the movement to stay at home which is in efforts to help prevent the spread of the novel COVID19 which is a danger to the whole world right now. Personally, I am not the best at designing or art therefore, i will be using the assistance of a couple of friends and my little sister for the designing of the posters. This will both help me develop my artistic skills and at the same time help me develop marketing skills. Additionally, I will need to work closely with my friends and sister to make sure we are all working on the same promotional campaign. By carrying this out we will be helping the whole world stay safe and specifically Egypt with its campaign to stay safe during this time.
The first painting we made together was the "Just stay home" which was not properly thought through. My sister was in charge of painting it in while I was the one who actually outlined the writing and the circles. I realized that the message was not very persuasive. My sister had come up with the caption which I realized was not a very good way of convincing people. Therefore, I realised my sister's strengths lied in the artistic side while my strengths lied in the design aspect of it and wording. Which in turn lead to the both of us deciding for me to come up with the phrasing and her to design the layout for it. This is in efforts to help prevent the global pandemic going on which is not being taken seriously enough in Egypt. We both worked together to create something to help our local community and the global goal.
The second poster we designed was a lot better. First off, we both knew our roles this time which helped us complete it quicker and enjoy the time doing it more. Further on, we had already planned what we were going to do beforehand, which helped us complete it efficiently. This time, it was more successful in persuading people as I showed it to the rest of our family and they said that it was a lot more persuasive. I also sent a picture of it to some of my friends and they agreed that it was indeed more persuasive. I did some research on ways to prevent the spread of corona and I found out that masks do not stop people from getting the virus. However, it is everyone's duty to wear one as it prevents the spread if you have the virus.
The last picture my sister and I made was meant to depict the consequence of leaving the house and breaking quarantine. This also shows the regret from someone who left the house which in turn can help become more convincing as it shows that the good feeling of leaving comes at a high price. Furthermore, it shows that it is important to take responsibility for not only what could happen to you but what impact you might have on others. In the end, we both had fun and also helped the movement of staying at home for everyone's safety. This was a great experience and I learned a lot when researching information to make the posters.
